WRL / CC - U16's TRAINING DAY - 20/12/08

Following recent performances in the Schools Rugby League Events, and feedback received from Coaches / Teachers, the following Year 10 & 11 BHGS Players have been invited to attend a WRL / CC U16's Training Day- Ben Coates - Oliver Olds - Scott Bryant - Tom Evans - Andrew Wait - Evan Yardley - Aled Pengilly & Tomas Owen. (Please arrive on time)

Date: Saturday 20th December
Time: 10.00am – 12.30pm
Venue: Pencoed College, Bridgend
(Junction 35 of the M4)

The purpose of the day is to give you some more high-level coaching to learn about some of the specific skills and tactics of Rugby League. The training will be delivered by Wales Rugby League and Celtic Crusaders Performance Coaches.

We are also in the early stages of identifying players for the Wales Under 16’s Squads, and whilst this is not a formal trial, it is an opportunity for new players to impress the Selectors.

There are many opportunities in 2009 for Under 16’s, including Schoolboy International versus England in April, a short Foundation Academy season with the Celtic Crusaders also a potential World Event in Serbia in the summer. We will be able to give you and your parents more information about this at the development day, and be happy to answer any of your questions.

If you are attending please bring suitable training kit and your own water bottle.

If you cannot make this day, or require any further information please do not hesitate to contact Dan Clements on 07811 107799 or dan.clements@rfl.uk.com
On behalf of the BHGS Coaching & Management Team we congratulate you all on your selection and wish you, all the BHGS Players and your families a great Xmas and prosperous New Year!!
Note!! Confirmation of the January 2009 BHGS Coaching Session, venue and time to be confirmed shortly, together with names of all the current BHGS Players -Regards, Kevan Tee.

Hi All
I would like to start off my first Blog by saying thanks to all the boys and parents that attended the opening presention. I think Andy's presentation will have answered all your questions. Our first session will take place at 6pm on Tuesday the 16th of December. It will be held in the Gym at Aberdare Boys School. Don't forget that 6pm is the time we will be starting the session not the time you are to arrive so I suggest you get there 10 minutes before so you are ready to go when Colin says so.
For this session you will need to come in suitable kit for training so indoor trainers, you won't need boots. You will also need to bring a drink of some description for yourself.
Thanks
Ian Gwynne
